Right before the sun poked its shiny face out from behind the hills. On the left, yes. That was the first reward for getting up a bit after 5am to catch the first ferry to the island of Krk.

I was fine, thank you very much. But my camera had difficulties climbing out with me through the narrow “door” without getting bashed, so the helping hand is for my Pentax…
Before I handed it over I looked up (probably for the first time since I started climbing the narrow steps / steep ladder) and decided that it was a moment not to be missed as I just stumbled upon a new viewpoint of Petros with the sun setting behind him over the sea. “Stay! Click. Now you can take it, thanks a lot.” 🙂
Shot from an old church’s tower, to which they were all too lazy to climb up claiming that the view would be just the same as it was from the previous one. Thank God, as this photo would be a whole lot more boring without them.
The sun was setting, so you might see “grains” indicating the the ISO was set quite high to make the camera see in the dusk. Never mind. Just because it’s getting dark it doesn’t mean we have to stop taking photos, right? One of the reasons I bought the Pentax K-x I’m using was the possibility of a distinguishing high ISO value. I think it was the first time I got rid of my fear to actually use this feature…
I had to climb all the way up to a tower to take this shot. Well, OK, it wasn’t the exact reason I climbed up… I just happen to like high spots with a view. The sun was setting, probably it’s already gone down by then. Each and every little wave was visible due to the low light and the colour of the sea became deep blue. I included the people around the pier on purpose – I like to have a base for comparison.
We are so small when it comes to Nature.
